Most foster children do not have the opportunity to experience the arts through private lessons. Penny the Piano symbolizes a foster child who is moved from home to home and gives the message that no matter where you are, you can find your true home within yourself.
We have created the Foster Children's Scholarship Fund to give the gift of the arts to foster children who otherwise would not have the opportunity to experience the arts.
A major initiative of the Foster Children's Scholarship Fund is to provide every foster child, eleven and under, with the book, Penny the One of a Kind Piano, and Penny's Discussion & Activity Guide for Foster Parents. Penny's Discussion and Activity Guide is an important tool that facilitates the foster parent and child relationship with entertaining videos, craft projects and guided discussions. An online lesson program will bring Penny's Piano Lessons and Yoga to foster children.
A long term goal of the Fund is to create an online registry of lesson providers in each state, where foster families can go to access complimentary lessons in the arts.
