Suzanne Jackson is the author of Penny the One of a Kind Piano and is the producer/co-writer of a musical by the same name. The musical will be premiered at the Snapple Theater Center at 50th and Broadway, New York City on February 17th. Penny's Washington DC debut will take place at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts on March 25th.
In addition to being a delightful children’s book and an educational music book, Penny the Piano symbolizes the life that many foster children experience as they are moved from home to home.
Suzanne has created the Foster Children’s Music Lesson Fund. This fund provides music lessons at no cost for foster children. The first award was presented at the Kennedy Center on September 26, 2012.
Suzanne Jackson is also a professional singer and certified yoga instructor and the creator of the YogaSing™ technique. She produced the ChakraWakening, YogaWakening and YogaSing programs and accompanying DVD's. She specializes in teaching students how to incorporate yoga techniques into their art form through preparing their bodies for improved performance.
Suzanne holds a master’s degree in voice performance from the University of Maryland and for 24 years she has performed as a resident singer with the Washington National Opera. Currently, she is the Director of The Awakening Arts Studio and teaches workshops both in the United States and abroad. Suzanne lives in Pennsylvania with her husband and three children.
